FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Athens Community Theatre (ACT) continues its 2025-26 Table Read season with a table read of Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express led by ACT director, Michael Webb.
ABOUT MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS
Just after midnight, a snowdrift stops the Orient Express in its tracks. The luxurious train is surprisingly full for the time of the year, but by the morning it is one passenger fewer. An American tycoon lies dead in his compartment, stabbed eight times, his door locked from the inside. Isolated and with a killer in their midst, the passengers rely on detective Hercule Poirot to identify the murderer – in case he or she decides to strike again.
Agatha Christie's "Murder on the Orient Express" premiered at the McCarter Theatre Center in Princeton, NJ on March 14, 2017. Directed by Emily Mann, the production featured Alan Corduner, Veanne Cox, Julie Halston and Max von Essen.
Participants should mark their calendars for the following Table Reads: April 28, May 19, July 14. Note: all 2025-26 Table Reads are on Tuesdays at 7:00 PM unless otherwise indicated.
Participation in a table read is a great way to “dip a toe in” to see what it’s like to work with Athens Community Theatre. The play is read casually: A participant can read a part or simply listen, and change their mind at any time. ACT members host these opportunities for fun, to preview plays and musicals for consideration, or for more niche titles. They are always free and open to the public.
