"Μία ξεκλείδωτη πόρτα σημαίνει, ότι πού και πού, μπορεί να μπει μέσα ένας διάβολος, αλλά μια κλειδωμένη πόρτα σημαίνει ότι χιλιάδες άγγελοι απλά θα προσπεράσουν από μπροστά", Ian MacKaye.
Οι Fugazi μας έμαθαν ότι κάτι μπορεί να είναι συναισθηματικό μα και πολιτικό μαζί. Πειραματικό και ευθύ την ίδια στιγμή. Τίμησαν το DIY ethos και μπόλιασαν με αυτό ολόκληρη την σκηνή μαθαίνοντας μας πως μια κοινότητα δημιουργημένη από εμάς είναι αυτή που μας χωράει όπως ακριβώς είμαστε. 
Ξεκίνησαν το 1986 και στις καρδιές των fans τους δεν σταμάτησαν ποτέ. Κυκλοφόρησαν 6 δίσκους-ορόσημα για τα ‘90s, από το 1990 μέχρι το 2001 καταφέρνοντας να είναι κάθε φορά όλο και καλύτεροι. Τα live τους ήταν μνημειώδη με την απίστευτη ενέργεια τους να κατακλύζει κάθε φορά την σκηνή. 
Το We Are Fugazi From Washington, D.C.” δημιουργήθηκε για να τιμήσει τα 20 χρόνια από την τελευταία ζωντανή εμφάνιση των Fugazi στο The Forum του Λονδίνου το 2002. Στα 96 λεπτά του περιλαμβάνονται ζωντανές εμφανίσεις τους που έχουν καταγραφεί από fans τους και συγκεντρώθηκαν μέσω crowdsourcing, όπως επίσης και σπάνιο αρχειακό υλικό που επιμελήθηκαν οι Joe Gross, Joseph Pattisal και Jeff Krulik. 
«This is not a Fugazi documentary» διευκρινίζεται από τους δημιουργούς του. Τι είναι όμως; Είναι μία καταγραφή της στιγμιαίας έκρηξης που ήταν μία live εμφάνιση των Fugazi και μία υπενθύμιση του πόσο σημαντική ήταν αυτή η μπάντα.

"An unlocked door means that every now and then, a devil might slip inside, but a locked door means that thousands of angels will simply walk right past," Ian MacKaye.
Fugazi taught us that something can be both emotional and political at the same time. Experimental and straightforward all at once. They honored the DIY ethos and infused the entire scene with it, teaching us that a community created by us is the one that accepts us exactly as we are. 
They started in 1986 and, in the hearts of their fans, they never stopped. They released six landmark albums for the ’90s, from 1990 to 2001, managing to get better and better gradually. Their live shows were monumental, with their incredible energy flooding the stage every time. 
“We Are Fugazi From Washington, D.C.” was created to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Fugazi’s final live performance at The Forum in London in 2002. Its 96 minutes include live performances recorded by fans and compiled through crowdsourcing, as well as rare archival footage curated by Joe Gross, Joseph Pattisal, and Jeff Krulik.
“This is not a Fugazi documentary,” the creators clarify. But what is it? It is a record of the fleeting intensity that was a Fugazi live performance and a reminder of just how important this band was.
