- **Event Description**: During the 2025 campaign, an extra-urban cult district dating to the Classical period was identified at Limyra in Lycia. A fragmentary altar inscription names not only Zeus as the recipient of the dedication, but also Perikles, who ruled Lycia as a dynast around 380–360 BC, as its donor. Initial investigations of the structure already suggest that Perikles consistently pursued the architectural programme known from his tomb on the acropolis of Limyra, displaying clear affinities with monuments on the Athenian Acropolis, most notably the Erechtheion. The lecture will present the first scholarly results of this important temple discovery at Limyra.
