- **Event Description**: Join SE Ohio Women Owning Woodlands and Rural Action Forestry to learn what conditions are preferred for various agroforestry practices.About this EventAgroforestry -the integration of trees and shrubs into crop and animal farming systems - can be implemented in a variety of ways to create economic, social, and environmental benefits.During this workshop we will learn more about various agroforestry practices and what site conditions are suitable for each, with particular focus on forest farming and non-timber forest products (NTFPs).Learn about native field and forest botanicals, their preferred site conditions (slope, aspect, moisture, etc.), and indicator plants. We’ll discuss site preparation and cultivation methods, processing considerations, market opportunities, and value-adding options. We’ll also introduce you to some helpful mapping and production estimation tools.This workshop includes a classroom component and a hands-on field excursion.
