Show dates for Annie are February 19 - March 1, 2026.
Director Melonie Carideo, joined by music director Ellen Kimball, needs a large cast including a strong adult ensemble, who will perform multiple characters, along with a dozen tough and talented “orphans.”
Annie is a perfect show for those wanting to experience a multigenerational musical. EVERYONE is welcome to audition!
Auditionees should come prepared to sing a solo of their choice of any style or genre. There will be an accompanist for sheet music and a speaker for a recorded track, so bring whichever is most comfortable.
It’s very important that auditionees know the song they will perform well. This will be a competitive audition, so put your best foot forward!
All auditionees should also bring or wear comfortable shoes for a movement audition. Some auditionees will be asked to do a cold read from the script.
Child auditionees with a special talent (tumbling, juggling, standing on your head, etc.) should come prepared to share with the director!
Anyone who wants to help with the production in any capacity should attend auditions.
For those selected, callbacks will be Tuesday, November 11, at 6:00 PM.
Everyone interested in being a part of the show will need to bring work, school, and family schedules for November 11, 2025 - March 2, 2026.
A special note for parents of minor children: parents must accompany their child into auditions and fill out the form (unless the form is filled out ahead of time). There are permissions and responsibilities that only parents are allowed to respond to.
Based on the popular comic strip by Harold Gray, Annie has become a worldwide phenomenon and was the winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The beloved book and score by Tony Award winners, Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, features some of the greatest musical theatre hits ever written, including "Tomorrow."
Athens Community Theatre Mainstage Series includes multigenerational productions, dramatic classics, and celebrated musicals, in our Sue E. Trotter Black Box Theater. Prices for ACT tickets range from $15 to $25. Patrons are encouraged to purchase tickets early, as ACT shows tend to sell out on, or before, show dates.
