Two hours of orienteering fun, on foot or by bike.
Round 3 of the 2025/26 winter orienteering series will be from the Rising Sun, Mossley.
Date: Wednesday 3rd December 2025
Location: The Rising Sun, 235 Stockport Road, Mossley, OL5 0RQ
Time: 6:15pm (Registration) 7pm (Start)
Duration: 2 hours
Cost: £5.00 donation on the night towards maps, control cards and spot prizes.
There will be pizza and beer available afterwards. If you want pizza, please order and pay at the bar before setting out at 7pm, so they can have your food ready for when you get back at 9pm.

Whilst the orienteering sessions are social gatherings, and not races or formal events, at which everyone participates at their own risk, all participants must be competent navigators, and be medically and physically capable of completing the course.
Everyone must wear suitable footwear & Hi-vis clothing and carry a map, waterproof map case, pen/pencil, compass, whistle, emergency clothing/equipment, full waterproof body cover and additional suitable warm clothing for the weather conditions. You must also carry a fully charged head-torch with spare batteries, and a working, fully charged, mobile phone. In addition, cyclists must also wear helmets and have fixed front and rear lights on a suitable, fully road legal bike.
Whilst this is not a race, but a social individual time trial event, there are goodies up for grabs. You never know, you might even be awarded the Spam Trophy! As this isn't a formal event, but a social gathering, there is no insurance cover in place. It is up to those taking part to ensure they have personal and property liability insurance in place, if felt required. By taking part in the event, you acknowledge and agree to the above conditions.
