Come and join Vinca Libanotica hiking group to its 10th anniversary on December 21, 2025, to celebrate together the continuity and success of this group. Your participation and your love to nature and to our lovely country Lebanon, made this group hold on 9 years consecutively. So, thanks for your most precious trust to this hiking group.

In order to return the favor to you my friends, after the cultural tours event in Anjar, we will celebrate by cutting the cake and eating delicious sweets without forgetting the gifts that will be distributed. Hope u will be many.

Description of the event:
1- Departure at 7:15 am from Jal Dib
2- Breakfast buffet featuring Armenian specialties in Anjar.
3- Hiking for 2 hours in Hima Anjar - Anjar eco park
4- Exploring Umayyad city site
5- Armenian Tonir Oven
6- Captain's Mooneh:  locally sourced organic products
7- Mousa Ler Ainjar Ethnographical Museum
8- Anjar Art Gallery
9- Lunch at Al Shams restaurant & celebrating Vinca Libanotica 10th year anniversary

Brief description of the event:

First, we will have a breakfast buffet featuring Armenian specialties will be organized on the premises of the park. You will have opportunity to taste varieties of delicious food like Khosh bread- apricot jam- plum jam- labne - cheese- Armenian chanklish - zaatar- zeitoun- martadel- tomato paste- pepper and tomato paste mix- chocolate paste- cream cheese.

 2- Anjar Eco Park & hiking:
Anjar Eco Park is a natural recreational space located near the historic town of Anjar. Designed to promote environmental awareness and sustainable tourism, it is surrounded by open green landscapes and fresh mountain air.
Visitors can enjoy walking and hiking trails suitable for all ages, and picnic areas are available for families and group gatherings.
The grounds include playgrounds and open spaces for children’s 
activities.
So, we will have the opportunity to hike around 2 hours between the lower cave and hima anjar which is a small reserve that contains trees, ponds, spring and an old mill. The hike is considered easy and suitable for all ages.

3- Umayyad city site:
After the hike, we will go directly to the archaeological site of Anjar is a well-preserved early 8th Century A.D. Umayyad city. Founded around 705 A.D., it served as a strategic commercial hub along the trade route between Damascus and the Mediterranean. The site reflects a unique blend of Roman, Byzantine and Islamic architectural elements, featuring colonnaded streets, palaces,
baths, a mosque and fortified walls with gates. Offering a valuable
insight into early Islamic urban planning and standing as a rare example of a planned agglomeration, Anjar became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984. 

4- Armenian Tonir Oven:
Following that, we will learn from Vahe how the Armenians used to cook several kind of breads like lavash, matnakash inside this oven.
So, in Armenia, the tannour oven is called tonir; It’s traditional
underground clay oven used for centuries in Armenian households.
Typically dug into the ground and lined with clay or stone, the tonir functions using dried wood or W**d as fuel.
The heat is retained within the earthen walls, allowing the efficient
cooking of breads such as lavash, matnakash and tonri hats, the dough typically stretched and slapped onto the hot inner surface.
The tonir is also used to cook meats, vegetables and stews, and plays a central role in family and communal life; Often associated with hospitality and shared meals, it was historically built inside or near the household. Its circular shape symbolizes continuity and unity, and it reflects the deep acquired knowledge of natural materials and heat control. Tonir cooking gives food a distinctive smoky flavor and represents an important aspect of Armenian cultural heritage.

5- Captain's Mooneh:
Captain's Mouneh is our next destination, a charming store dedicated to providing high quality, locally sourced organic products that reflect the rich culinary heritage of Anjar. Artisanal items and homemade preserves are carefully selected to ensure the best quality possible.
One of the highlights of Captain's Mooneh is its commitment to
sustainability and supporting local farmers; This approach contributes to the local economy and promotes eco-friendly practices. The store often features seasonal products, so there's always something new to discover, whether it's organic condiments, healthy snacks or unique regional delicacies.

6- Mousa Ler Ainjar Ethnographical Museum:
Following Captain's Mouneh, The Mousa Ler Ainjar Ethnographical Museum is a unique heritage institution; It preserves and showcases traditional Armenian rural life and craftsmanship. Authentic household tools and farming equipment
are on display, along with various artifacts and relevant pieces.
The collection emphasizes self-sufficiency and community values,
whilst also documenting the history of Armenian settlement in Anjar.
The educational purpose and cultural preservation role are thus
highlighted by providing an intimate insight into Armenian culture in Lebanon.

7- Anjar Art Gallery:
We cannot finish our tour without visiting the art gallery of Anjar which reveals the rich cultural diversity of the Beqaa region; It
offers a unique meeting point between art, history, society and heritage.
The establishment showcases works by local and regional Lebanese artists which include painting, sculpture, photography and mixed media.
The aim is to promote cultural dialogue and creative expression at a space that often hosts temporary exhibitions and artistic events.
It serves as a platform for emerging talents as well as established artists.

8- Lunch at Al Shams restaurant:
The purpose of this event, to celebrate the 10th year anniversary of Vinca Libanotica. So, we will have our lunch, then we cut the cake and choose 10 names who will receive precious gifts.

Required materials: comfortable clothes, backpack, hat, 3L of water, running shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen, healthy snacks.

Fees:  25 USD or equivalent to the LBP market rate (including transportation, guidance, breakfast, but does not include medical insurance)
