In this 6-session workshop, you will have the chance to learn and practice the basic elements of Playback Theatre.
Together we will build a trustful and safe environment for sharing and exchange; an environment that promotes playfulness, creativity, experiential discovery and empathic listening.
The process will be based on drama games, improvisational theatre, storytelling exercises, rhythm exercises, voice and movement, song and musicality, and embodiments based on metaphors, all rich in listening, attunement and ensemble work.
The overall experience will enhance your personal and social skills through artistic expression. In addition to developing verbal and nonverbal expressiveness, you will develop personal and social awareness, and the ability to listen deeply and empathize with others as well as other social skills.
IF YOU NEED TO KNOW MORE ABOUT PLAYBACK AND ASK QUESTIONS DIRECTLY TO THE FACILITATOR, WE INVITE YOU TO ATTEND A PLAYBACK THEATRE PERFORAMNCE BY THE RED BRIDGE ENSEMBLE AT AMALGAM ON 24TH OF FEBRAURY AT 7 PM.
If you like to go beyond the personal development then you can move to the next phase:

PLAYBACK THEATRE is an original form of improvisational theatre founded in 1975 by Jonathan Fox and Jo Salas, in which audience or group members -by the mediation of the conductor/facilitator of the performance (or the workshop)- tell stories from their lives and watch them enacted on the spot. As other members witness and tell their stories in response, a deep and empathy-building conversation is created through stories brought to the stage.
Playback is now used in over 70 countries as a way to promote community building, dialogue and collective trauma response among other applications.
Together, these 2 workshops are the equivalent of the Core Training- Level 1 in Playback Theatre (30 hours). Though it is accredited through the Arab School of Playback Theatre, an affiliate school of the New York-based, Centre for Playback Theatre (CPT).
The course can be counted towards an internationally recognized Diploma in Playback Theatre.
