•	Transportation: in a comfortable air-conditioned bus
•	Contribution: 22.-$/person covering program, guides and transportation (excluding food & drinks) (Please bring the exact amount).
•	Reservation: Book your space as soon as possible, before Friday 13/06/2025. A down payment of 50% is required to confirm your booking through Whish Money.

OVERVIEW
Join Green Steps on Sunday June 15th to explore Batloun village and hike through its rugged trails, uncover hidden gems, and experience El Dabe3 cave featuring stalagmite formations. This journey will take you through breathtaking landscapes, ancient paths, and the untouched beauty of nature.

WHAT TO EXPECT
The program includes the following:
•	A breakfast stop in Barouk village.
•	Explore Batloun heritage while enjoying nature and breathtaking landscapes.
•	Embark on a scenic trek from Batloun to Botmeh village. The trail is rich in water springs and canals, agricultural areas and wild forest.
•	You’ll have the chance to visit El Dabe3 cave that was historically used by elders as a shelter for their herds. The cave features stalagmite formations.
•	Along the way, our knowledgeable guide will share insights into the rich history of the area.
•	You’ll have lunch in nature, so please bring with you some snacks.
•	The journey will end with a gathering in a coffeeshop before heading back to Beirut.

The hike is of level 5 – moderate :
- Circuit length: around 10 km  
- Altitude 1’100 m.
- Total uphill : 150 m.
- Total downhill : 150 m
- Effective hiking time: 3.5 hrs


IMPORTANT INFORMATION
•	Needs for the hike: hiking shoes, hiking stick, sportswear, windbreaker, hat, backpack, WATER bottles of 2-liter min, sunglasses, sunscreen, camera, meal (dry fruits, energy bars, sandwich, drinks), ID card, insurance card, smiley face, and full energy.
•	Participate in an interactive quiz and general knowledge contest during the trip, the winner will receive an exciting prize!

N.B.:
* A down payment of 50% is required to confirm your booking, to be paid through Whish Money.
* Cancellations after Friday 13/06/2025 – 5h00 pm, require a payment of 50% of the full contribution. 
* The event being ecological, Green Steps encourages all participants to adopt a refill water bottle instead of plastic ones.
* Hikers are advised to participate in the hike to their own responsibility.
* Hikers are asked to follow hiking ethics provided by Green Steps
* Smoking is not allowed during the hike.
* Pets are not allowed in this event
* In the case of force majeure, some modifications may occur to the program.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE REGION
Batloun is a historical village in the Shouf district, known for its rich cultural heritage and natural beauty. Batloun was historically known for silkworm production, along with apples, peaches, cherries, figs, almonds and grapes. Batloun is situated 48 km from Beirut, at an altitude of 1000 to 1250 meters.

To offset the carbon emissions of this event, two cedar trees will be planted on Falougha Mountain.
