Now, Couplet is picking up where they left off with a folktale about sex and death in a hot new hour. Folk Marry K*ll finds Marnina & Micah asking the hard questions: “how often should a married couple, you know, folk?” and “how long can forever actually last?” and “if you had to, who would you K*ll: Kermit the Frog, Paddington Bear, or Tony Hawk?” With their guitar and fiddle, Couplet tells so-weird-they-must-be-true stories from a decade of being monogamous… a British sleep hypnotist, a therapy workbook that doesn't hold back, and an Uber driver who loves his zip ties. They’ll keep folking till death do them part. Directed by Katie Lindsay."Micah and Marnina are an impossibly unique cocktail of talented, funny, and charming!" - Sam Reich (Dropout TV)“Get ready to laugh uncontrollably!” - Larchmont BuzzGenius! Delightful and real... Very funny" - Starbust Magazine"Hilarious, fast-paced and absorbing! Having been described as “this generation’s Flight of the Conchords” and also “like my annoying aunt’s annoying friends”, last year they went on to tour Honey Honey Moon Moon (directed by Chris Grace & Eric Michaud) and were invited to perform at various prestigious venues worldwide. The duo is best known for their queer anthem “People Think We’re Straight” and the cautionary tale about their couples therapist “Jacquelyn Denfark.” Even P!NK jumped on the bandwagon by reposting their viral holiday song “Hot Hanukkah.” Couplet has been seen in the New York Times, the Guardian, and heard on BBC Radio 4. The New York Post called them “that comedy duo”. They perform regularly at UCB, Dynasty Typewriter, The Elysian, and other theatres around LA and across the US, and have created sketches with the likes of Josh Gad, Michaela Watkins and Seth Rogen. As an actor, Marnina starred in Sundance selection comedy-drama Chanshi with Henry Winkler and Netflix’s Unstable with Rob Lowe and Fred Armisen. She also features in national commercials, including one as ‘Creepy Violinist’, a part she trained for her whole life. As a writer, Micah creates new shows every month with Quick & Funny Musicals at the Upright Citizen’s Brigade theatre. Their music has been featured in films, TV, and commercials. Recently, Micah co-created the musical Good Guy with a Gun! along with songwriter Philip Labes. A concept album premiering this new American satire comes out this summer featuring Chris Sullivan, Kimiko Glenn, Anthony Rapp, Richard Kind, Vic Michaelis, and Kristen Schaal… plus, a cameo from Couplet!“There’s nothing they can’t sing and laugh their way through.” – New York Times★★★★★ “So charming, they could turn even the stoniest cynic into a Romeo-level romantic” – EdFest Magazine - **Event URL**: https://allevents.in/ashland/asf-presents-couplets-folk-marry-kll-the-columbia-hotel/100002000209496448 - **Event Categories**: entertainment, music, art, comedy, theatre, performances, live-music, literary-art, holiday - **Interested Audience**: - total_interested_count: 0 - **Event Highlights**: - Duration: 2 hours - Location: The Columbia Hotel - Languages: English ## Ticket Details - **Ticket Price Range**: min: 23.18, max: 23.18, currency: USD ## Event venue details - **city**: Ashland - **state**: OR - **country**: United States - **location**: The Columbia Hotel - **lat**: 42.1956224 - **long**: -122.7120042 - **full address**: The Columbia Hotel, 262 East Main Street, Ashland, United States ## Event gallery - **Alt text**: ASF!
