Courtney Akers is the recipient of the NPSO Siskiyou Chapter’s 2025 Frank A. Lang Student Grant. As part of her grant project, she will share findings from her comprehensive field study examining the impacts of free-range cattle on biodiverse mountain meadows, streams, and wetlands.  Courtney is entering her senior year at Southern Oregon University, where she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and Policy, along with a certificate in Geospatial Science. She plans to graduate in spring 2026 and currently maintains an outstanding 3.95 institutional GPA.
