Car kits will be available at church every Sunday for $5. Work days will be Saturday, February 7th, from 11-1 p.m, and Saturday, February 21st, at 8-10 a.m.
Registration will start at 8:30-9:30am with a $5 race fee.
The race will start at 10am.
Along with your kit, you will receive instructions for building your car. These instructions state that the weight will be 5 oz. Ours will be 5 1/2 oz. (This year, we will be adding a Modified Race instruction below.) For the stock car race, no plastic items can be added. All objects and shapes must be made from the wood kit.
For the Modified Race, you can use pre-cut kits and add plastic items. The weight will still be 5 1/2 OZ. You must have a car entered into the Stock Race to enter a car into the Modified Race.
You will also receive a sketch sheet to practice drawing your car. Please notice the front of the car. Must be square or rounded. This is so the start peg on the track will start each car at the same point.
If you don't have a saw to cut your car, bring your car to workday, and you or one of us will cut it out. We will also show you how to add weight. Fishing sinkers work great. We melt them and add them to the car. Bring sinkers to work day. After the workday, you can take your car home and paint it. If you have any questions, please see Jake Lauria or Thomas Foster.
