✨🎄 Ashington Christmas Light Switch-On & Lantern Parade Returns! 🎄✨
Ashington Town Council is delighted to invite you to a magical community celebration on Thursday 13th November 2025, from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM, right in the heart of the town along Station Road and at the Masonic Hall.
This event is part of the Animating Ashington Autumn/Winter Festival. Funded by UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and North East Combined Authority, with the North East Combined Authority as lead authority.
🌟 What’s On:
🎨 Free Family Fun (3:00–5:00 PM)
Join us at the Masonic Hall for hands-on lantern making workshops and festive activities – perfect for little ones to get creative before the parade.
🎶 Live Entertainment
Enjoy an afternoon of music and festive cheer, with community carol singing led by the much-loved Ashington & District Male Voice Choir.
🧚♀️ Fairies & Elves Lantern Parade (from 5:00 PM)
The evening’s highlight – a sparkling Fairies and Elves themed parade!
✨ Children are encouraged to dress as fairies or elves.
✨ Prizes for the best dressed in each category.
✨ Every child taking part will receive a certificate and keepsake.
The lights won't be turned on until after 6:30pm.
🎁 The Festivities Continue…
Don’t miss the 12 Days of Christmas Market on Friday 14th November (11:30 AM – 7:00 PM) – with stalls, festive fun, and a special appearance by Mrs Claus!

This year’s events are proudly supported by the Ashington Cultural Events Grant Scheme, with funding from Northumberland County Council – a true investment in bringing our community together.
