Starting at the Nature Reserve on Wye Downs, this a walk of about 12 miles, that explores some of the area, that can been seen below the Downs. This includes Hatch Park, which has royal connections, having been owned by the Knatchbull family since 1486 during the reign of Henry VII.
Setting off, we head over the Nature Reserve at Broad Downs to the Millstone Viewpoint, which gives us a great view of the landscape below. Joining the zig-zag path, it is a steady descent to soon reach Troy Town, followed by Naccolt Farm. We reach Brabourne Lees and enter Hatch Park, where you might spot some of the large herd of deer that roam throughout the parkland.
Next up, the circuit heads through Jacob Plantation and Joe Farm, before the group arrive at Smeeth church, which will most likely be our picnic lunch break. Later in the walk, upon reaching the ancient Pilgrims' Way, there is a short steep climb to cross the North Downs Way, with the ascent continuing, before arriving at Hastingleigh. At this point, the Bowl Inn awaits, for the obligatory drinks stop at this regular port of call for the Ashford Ramblers.
After the pub stop, it is just a case of returning to the start point, which we approach from the rear of Crown Lodge, for completion of the walk.
Dogs welcome, but on a short lead when required.

Starting point - The main and biggest car park at Wye Nature Reserve, is located on Coldharbour Lane, between Wye & Hastingleigh, situated above the Devils Kneading Trough at the brow of the hill, just beyond Crown Lodge if approaching from Wye.
