The group’s main purpose is to play for pleasure, allowing those with experience to maintain their skills and giving an opportunity for newer musicians to develop in a safe and welcoming environment.Led by Conductor David Bruce. In 2023 the Ashford Orchestra became The Spelthorne Orchestra – the change of name intended to reflect the wider catchment area of its members.The orchestra is always looking to welcome new players of any standard. Some current members started playing again after taking a break from their instrument for several years. Others were just keen to keep their skills going.
