We explore different species of wood, learn how to use measuring tools, various kinds of calipers including the golden mean, pencil compass, and others. We learn how to use the drill press and the bandsaw to prep our wood. And we practice using the woodturning tools, called gouges, effectively. Embellish the turned work by using carving, paints, or wood burning (pyrography).Limited financial aid is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. We hold a few spots in each class for applicants, and you may apply at any time.
