Our sensory world can also become disconnected when our nervous system has stayed in pattern loops from high levels of stress and/or trauma.This is essentially a disconnect of mind and body. The sensory information we receive from the outside world, drives movement patterns in the body. So, if we’re constantly perceiving the world as unsafe, we will move in that way.How do we begin to correct this?We start the practice of reintegrating the senses. Meditating can be challenging when we’ve been in a heightened state, so exploring adding additional sensory input can help to get you out of attachment to your busy racing thoughts and into the feelings/sensations created in your body. The more you explore the five traditional senses more mindfully, the more you can perceive energy. The more energy you perceive, the more you feel connected to everything. Learning to express and move energy is vulnerable, but as the research shows, vulnerability is the key to personal freedom.This evening will be all about tuning in and listening to your needs.
