MUKASE - African Kitchen Dinner


On Saturday January 26th from 6pm-8:30 renowned musician, scholar, and cook Agya Boakye-Boaten will host an African inspired dinner and optional drumming lesson at West End Bakery and Cafe in West Asheville. Dinner will include several courses made up of traditional dishes from West Africa to Mozambique. Vegetarian options will be available.

A rich history of music and storytelling accompany the delicious food traditions in many parts of Africa. Therefore, this event commences with an optional drumming lesson given by Adama Dembele, a 33rd generation djembefola (djembe player) from Côte d'ivoire, and master drummer Agya Boakye-Boaten. As the courses of the meal are served musicians from several countries in Africa will play traditional and contemporary music.
