The primary intent is simply to allow the breath to flow more openly in the body, to allow more life into our being. Conscious Connected Breathing finds its roots in the teachings of Mahavatar Babaji but was pioneered in the western world by Leonard Orr and Sondra Ray through their Rebirthing Technique. There are many different systems of Breathwork that exist (Breathwave, Transformational Breath, Holotropic, etc.) all sharing one common thread of connecting the breath without a pause. Breathwave is held in a ceremonial context with a focus on pattern integration through the breath.
