This solemn and meaningful ceremony will include the laying of a commemorative wreath at the Randolph County Slave Memorial, remarks from community leaders, and a time of reflection as we remember those whose labor helped build the economic foundation of our community.

The Randolph County Slave Memorial bears the names of enslaved men, women, and children who lived, labored, and suffered in bondage throughout our county. Through this ceremony, we seek to ensure that their stories are remembered and that their contributions are never forgotten.

Together, we will honor the resilience of those who endured unimaginable hardship and recognize their place in the history of Randolph County.
