Join us for a creative workshop exploring the sculptural side of wet felting with Vicky Pulman. Using the resist method and working over a ball, you'll discover how to build up layers of fibre, roll, shape and coax them into a seamless felted bag- strong, practical and completely unique.
We'll begin with a foundation of Perendale wool batts, chosen for their softness, bounce and ability to felt firmly into shape. From there, you'll explore a rich palette of textures and fibres to being your design to life:
Artisan and hand-dyed yarns for bold lines and expressive marks.
Boucle yarns and neps that add loops, bumps and tactile interest
Silks for lustrous highlights and flowing movement
Wool locks for organic textures and sculptural depth
This is where your bag becomes truly one-of-a-kind -a canvas of fibres layered and fused together through the rhythm of rolling and the energy of friction, water and soap.
You'll learn how to handle different fibres in wet felting, how to build strength into your form and how to finish your bag so it's as durable as it is beautiful. By the end of the workshop, you'll leave with a handmade felted bag that carries both function and artistry, shaped entirely by your own hands.
All materials and guidance are included and no previous felting experience is needed - just curiosity and the joy of making.
About Vicky Pulman
Vicky is a Cheshire-based feltmaker, workshop leader and founder of Needlessly Felted. With a background in the corporate world, she discovered felting as a way to reconnect with creativity and slow, mindful making- a passion that has since grown into a thriving practice of workshops, retreats and commissioned work. Vicky works with richly textured fibres, silks and art yarns to create both fine felted pictures and sculptural forms, always exploring the possibilities of wool as an expressive medium. She is a proud member of the International Feltmakers Association (IFA), connecting her practice to a global community of fibre artists and continuing to share her love of feltmaking with others.
