This June, Soccer Mania and Beder are coming together to host a special Family Fun Day and Charity Football Match in loving memory of Richard Beckett. The event aims to celebrate Richard’s life while raising vital funds for Beder, a men’s mental health and suicide prevention charity.

About Beder
Beder is a charity that takes a unique and compassionate approach to raising awareness around mental health and suicide prevention. Through engaging events and initiatives, Beder seeks to gently challenge stigma, encourage open conversations, and create meaningful change.

A key part of their work is the Beder Therapy Voucher Scheme, which provides free access to therapy. These vouchers help remove common barriers to seeking support, such as affordability and long waiting times. Individuals can receive up to six 50-minute therapy sessions and/or a one-year membership to Mindler’s iCBT self-care platform.

Beder is committed to normalising conversations around mental health and suicide prevention, creating opportunities for dialogue, and empowering communities to play their part in supporting those in need.

The Match
The Soccer mania team will be made up of Richard’s friends, family members, colleagues, coaches, and a few former professional footballers. They will face Beder FC, a team that regularly competes in fixtures supporting charities and organisations.

At half-time, there will be a special balloon release in Richard’s memory. Attendees will be invited to write personal messages to Richard before the balloons are released together in tribute.
