Have you always wanted to attempt a sprint triathlon but are intimidated by the swim? Have you participated in an open water swim but need to improve in the water? Would you like to join a Master' Swim Program? At the conclusion of the BEGINNER program, you will have the confidence to join our Master's Swim Program, with swims in excess of 1,600-yards (1-mile)!! When: Our 2nd summer session will be starting on TUESDAY - SEPT 29 & run for 6-weeks as follows: *Registration includes participation in (2) of these sessions each week (12-sessions in total)... Our '101' program meets for 6-weeks, every Tuesday/Thursday as follows: o 5-6am o 6-7am o 8-9am Where: Our program will be based out of the Asbury Park Boys & Girls Club: 1201 Monroe Ave Asbury Park, NJ What: This program is designed for those who may not be ready for our 'regular' Masters programs or someone who has yet to participate in a structured swim program. It is also for the athlete who has some experience, but needs to work on basic swim fundamentals. With that, the individual should have a minimal level of proficiency (i.e. The ability to swim down the end of the pool & back, even if it is with ANY elementary stroke...even doggy paddle!). Our session will include... **Coached training program, meeting (2) times per week **Individualized workouts/drills based on your ability **Outline of all workouts, e-mailed to you after each session. Cost: 6-Weeks / 12-sessions: o $249 (Register BEFORE SEPT 1) o $299 (Register BEFORE SEPT 23) o $349 (Register ON/AFTER SEPT 23) MISC: o Lockers: Do you hate bringing your swim gear to/from the pool every time? Just bring a lock & leave your things in our lockers between swims! Showers: Newly renovated showers (you'd just need to bring towels & toiletries…& again, you can leave these items in a locker if you like). COACH BRIAN BIO: o Brian Shea comes to the program with a wealth of experience in endurance sports as an athlete, coach and consultant. He is the Founder & Head Coach at JSM (Jersey Shore Masters) & for over 25 years, has competed in all levels of endurance sports from 5K to Ultra-marathon Swims/Runs to Ironman. o He has raced/won triathlons in the United States & abroad with multiple Ironman finishes including Ironman Hawaii with Personal Bests of: 5k - 15:54 Marathon - 2:49 Ironman - 9:31 Most recently, Coach Brian has *8* top-10 finishes in the 9-mile Swim for Alligator Light in Islamorada, FL - including a (3) top-5 finishes. Additionally, he has multiple top-3 finishes (40-49) at the United States Lifesaving Association National Championships, including being a part of Monmouth County's winning 2023 team. o On the coaching side, Brian is a certified coach having formulated training and sports nutrition programs for athletes ranging from beginner to professional.
