Funding Colorado’s Public Schools - What’s Next?
Despite a booming economy, Colorado's school funding system is broken leaving all too many students, schools and districts without the opportunities and resources they need to succeed. Amendment 73 (2018's school funding initiative) came closer than any measure in recent history to convincing enough Colorado voters to invest more in public education, but its failure to reach the 55% necessary for passage means that the need for more adequate and equitable funding of Colorado's schools is more urgent than ever. Join us for a conversation about what made Amendment 73 the most successful effort for a statewide tax increase yet, and how public education advocates are continuing the fight to make Colorado a state where every student graduates ready to thrive.
