This year, the school will be officially 10 years old and to celebrate, we are combining this with our annual egg rolling competition (my last!) on Friday 5th April. The theme for the egg decorations is ‘Arnold Mill’; hopefully this allows you to be really creative with your decorations - perhaps you could decorate the egg as one of the teachers, or a child in AMP school uniform or in a style to represent one of the topics your child has been learning about (this will test if they can remember their topics!)
As usual, the egg should be hard boiled and we would be grateful if you could tell your child that once they have rolled their egg, it will be thrown away.
Two parents/carers per child are invited to attend and also to take part. We cannot have more because of health and safety, so please do not turn up with extra friends or relatives, on the off chance. There are two Easter eggs per class to be won; one for the boy whose egg is closest to the target and one for the closest girl.
The times are as follows:
* Foundation Stage and KS1 – 1:30 start (this should be finished by 2:15 at the latest) F1am children can be brought back for the afternoon in order to take part.
* KS2 – 2:40 start (this will finish by 3:30 at the latest)
To confirm your attendance please visit Eventbrite – https://arnoldmill.eventbrite.com
– this will give us a guest list. If you have children rolling eggs in both sessions, you are welcome to stay in school for the second session.
The pedestrian gate on Cross Street (not Bestwood Avenue) will be opened approximately five minutes before the start times. The main vehicular access gates leading to the staff car park generally remain closed during the day, if the gate happens to be open please do not park in the car park as you risk being locked in (the gates will remain locked between 3.00 & 3.50pm).
Eggs should be brought to school on the morning of 5th April and given to the class teacher for safe keeping.
