Spoons at the ready, your entrance fee is the golden ticket to chili tastings, the power to crown the chili champion by asting your vote, plus the luxury of sipping on your first beer, wine, or a non-alcoholic delight.

Dive into the chili showdown and snag a bag of schwag on your way out – because who doesn't love freebies?

Calling all Denver metro first responders, their friends, and families – it's time to flex those culinary muscles and indulge in some friendly competition. Let the battle of the bowls begin! 🔥🌶️

Please note- if we sell out tickets before the event, we will not be able to guarantee tickets at the door. Do not wait to get your tickets!

Info for Competitors

Traditional Red Chili is defined as any kind of meat or combination of meats, cooked with chili peppers, spices and other ingredients, with the exception of pasta, which is strictly forbidden. Beans may be used in competition chili. Competition chili must be made with one or a combination of beef, pork or turkey meat only. Toppings of cheese, onion, cilantro, or others may be added for presentation.

1st Place Prize is for a Traditional Red Chili .

People's Choice can be any other type of Chili (green chili, chili with noodles, queso chili, etc...)

  • The competition is open to men and women of any age (entering as individuals or teams). Competitors can be personnel of the fire department, the Police department. Family members and friends can compete on behalf of either the Fire Department or Poloce Department.
  • All teams or individuals must provide a valid email address when registering for the competition. Communication to the registered email address shall constitute notice delivered regarding competition matters.
  • The entry fee is $30.00 per chili entered. Entry fee is payable through eventbrite tickets.
  • Contestants must pre-register in order to enter the contest. Registration the day of the contest is not permitted.
  • Contestants may enter more than one batch of chili, and may enter as a team or individually. Clever team names and chili names are encouraged.
  • Each Chili entry fee entitles 2 people to attend the event.
  • All ingredients must be pre-cooked and prepared prior to the event. The chili is to be brought "ready-to-eat."
  • Regular commercial chili powder is permissible, but complete commercial chili mixes are not permitted.
  • Each individual or team is responsible for cooking no less than two gallons of chili and turning in one cup of chili for judging. Judging bowls will be supplied.
  • Each chili entered will be assigned a number by the judging committee, and each contestant is responsible for turning in his or her chili with that number by 6:00 p.m.
  • Each participant's chili will be distributed to the event guests, but only after an individual or team has submitted their chili to the judges. The hosts will provide bowls, spoons and napkins for distributing the chili to the event guests.
  • Red Chili Award and Peoples Choice winners will determined by the attendee's. The attendee's will be entitled to taste each participant's chili, and will cast their vote at the time of the event. The Chili in each category with the most votes will be named the winner.

All contestants must provide their own heating apparatus, such as a hot plate, crockpot, instapot, camping stove or canned fuel (e.g., Sterno). No wood or coal burning allowed.

In the event that we light the place on fire- thankfully we have the best in the biz to show us how to work a fire extinguisher! Hosts will provide the staging area and extension cords.

  • First Prize (Red Chili category): $400, Our badass event trophy, an Rtic cooler filled with prizes, an announcement at the event, and bragging rights!
  • Peoples Choice (any kind of Chili): $250, and an Rtic cooler filled with prizes!
