Spinning Wheel Workshop

In this beginner-friendly workshop, learn how to spin fiber on a Louët spinning wheel with instructor Karin Gateless. Spinning is an ancient art form born out of practicality. Spun fiber was then woven or knitted into fabric for clothing, tapestries, etc. It can be done with many different natural fibers, and in this workshop, you will be spinning wool.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Louët spinning wheels are modern spinning wheels. Arthurdale Heritage only has two Louët wheels available for use during the workshop–spinning wheel reservation is first come first serve! All other students are required to bring their own Louët spinning wheel. Please email bWFyeSAhIGwgfCBhcnRodXJkYWxlaGVyaXRhZ2UgISBvcmc= to reserve one of Arthurdale Heritage’s spinning wheels.

When: Tuesday, May 12, 6pm-8pm
Where: 18 Q Rd. Arthurdale, WV 26520. The Loom Room entrance is the gray door located behind Center Hall. Parking is by the dumpster across A Road.
