The Grove is the only facility in Arnprior that offers long-term care to seniors. Currently, 60 seniors call The Grove home. The town of Arnprior has one of the oldest populations in our province, which puts significant pressure on the nursing home and hospital resources. This caused The Arnprior Regional Health Board of Directors to complete a comprehensive review of The Grove, which supported the need for redevelopment of the site to increase to 96 long-term care beds, 20-30 affordable seniors’ accommodation, and seniors’ programming such as assisted living and an adult-day program.

In August 2017, the provincial government announced $17 million in funding for 36 additional beds at the Grove Nursing Home, requiring a redevelopment of the facility. Construction to build a new and expanded Grove began in 2018 and will be tentatively finished by 2020. An additional $5 million is needed from the community to fund the Grove’s redevelopment, and to purchase important and life-saving medical equipment the Hospital needs to serve our community.
