- **Event Description**: Please join us this coming Monday, June 22 from 7:30-9:00 PM at the Fox Library for our Broadway Neighbors Coalition Spring Meeting. We will be in the community room downstairs, and will have some light refreshments to share.

Two important items are on the agenda:

1. Eversource's Underground Cable Modernization Project

The "North Cambridge to Woburn" portion of Eversource's Underground Cable Modernization Project is a major utility project that would affect large portions of Broadway and Warren Street over the next ~5-10 years. The existing underground 345-kV transmission line is past its useful life expectancy and needs to be replaced. Its current route is shown in pink below; Eversource has studied several alternate routes, but we believe their preference is to rebuild the line along its current route.

A representative from Eversource will be with us Monday night to present the project and take questions. This is a big opportunity for us to understand the impact of the project on the neighborhood, including rebuilding and/or improving the streets with safety improvements. Please turn out with any questions you may have. Whatever happens, this will have a major impact on all of us when construction starts in 2029!

2. Broadway Corridor Redesign as a Complete Street

Thanks to funding from the Boston Metropolitan Planning Organization and Arlington's Town Meeting, the Town has the opportunity to hire a consultant to study the one-mile Broadway corridor and design improvements for increased access by persons who walk, bike, roll, or use transit. We understand that engineering firm VHB has been hired to lead the project.

As neighbors and users of the Broadway corridor, we want to ensure this project starts off strong and delivers the highest possible quality street design for our neighborhood! We know the process will include a Design Review Committee including neighborhood stakeholders. We will discuss how we can best contribute to the process, and ensure that previous community engagement--including the feedback and design work we have developed together as the Broadway Neighbors Coalition--informs the design.

Please join us on Monday night--we can't do this without you! Again, we will be in the Fox Library community room from 7:30-9:00 PM on Monday, June 22.
