It is in Council District 3 represented by Councilwoman Nikkie Hunter. She has a perfect record of voting to expand fracking in Arlington.

She voted in 2021-22 to deny Total a permit at their AC360 site, but reversed herself on even that vote last year by voting to create a massive new drill site - the Maverick - right next to the AC360 site, adding to severe pollution for 3 elementary schools, a daycare, homes, and several apartment communities.

The city council will vote to grant Total a Special Use Permit to establish a drill zone on April 7. The second reading, public hearing, and 2nd vote will take place on Tuesday, April 21, and will be immediately followed by another hearing and council vote to grant Total gas well permits for 3 wells on the site.

Delia Icenhower, James Coble, Janet Brockett, Martha Reid Schools are in the area, and the site is next to are neighborhoods of homes and apartments.

Once a drillzone permit has been granted, the city of Arlington can approve any number of gas wells in secret inside the drillzone without informing neighbors. For instance, the city approved about 2 dozen new gas wells at Total's Bruder site in 2022  about 325 feet from homes using this tactic. The resulting drilling that continues has caused horrendous noise, property damage, horrific emissions, illnesses, according to residents. The city has taken NO action to improve the situation despite many complaints by affected residents.
