A Workshop-"About THAT Talk!" One conversation can make all the difference.

“She looked me straight in the eye and said, ‘All I want is to stay in my house.’ I knew then I would do everything I could to honor her request.”

How do you start a conversation nobody wants to have?

End of Life Planning and Legacy Planning are rarely dinner-table topics, but they answer the questions cients have about "What happens when..." and calms fears about being a burden on the family.

The new year is a time to think about the future — which, experts say, makes it the perfect opportunity for one special conversation: a talk about advanced illness and end-of-life care for your loved ones.

“This is not a conversation about death,” says Dr. Kate Lally, a physician specializing in psychosocial oncology and palliative care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, “but about life.”

According to The Conversation Project, 92 percent of Americans say it’s important to have a discussion about "What if?" but only 32 percent have actually had the talk. The challenge really, is how do I start?

The Legacy Plan Academy and  the Law Office of Marilyn Garner, in conjunction with The Conversation Project; present an interactive workshop about starting "The Talk" that every family needs to have.

Talking with your loved ones openly and honestly, before a medical crisis happens, gives everyone a shared understanding about what matters most to you during an illness or at the end of life. We will share with you a Conversation Starter Kit, very useful whether you are preparing to tell someone else your desires, or you want to help someone else get ready to share their wishes.

You don't have to get everything right on your first try but you do need to get started. You are invited to an interactive workshop where you will learn, step-by-step, how to get the conversation started and move proactively to make choices and discuss your story with the people who matter most.

This free workshop is reserved for attendees of prior presentations of the Legacy Plan Academy. We are limited to 25 participants and will have to close off registration once we meet that number.

Don't delay, register today.
