"A Wee Bit Irish" Photography Class & Celtic Photo Contest

If not, you need not worry! Rumor has it that everyone’s a wee bit Irish in March. So to celebrate we’re inviting you to join us for a grand time as we learn some tips and tricks for street and event photography, and then put those skills to use at the incredibly amazing North Texas Irish Festival!At Arlington Camera:We’ll meet at the store Friday night as our favorite Irish photographer, Ian McVae*, shares his knowledge about what it takes to capture some great images at the Festival. The Festival is an extraordinary event with so many different things to photograph, so Ian will touch on many aspects of getting great photos during various circumstances. Capturing action, street photography, character studies, close-up images, and much more!Ian has also agreed to a little shenanigans – he’s going to play his Celtic Bodhran Drum and Tin Whistle for us to set the mood for the Festival. That might just be reason to raise a pint! Slainte!At the North Texas Irish Festival:Since there are so many areas of interest at the Festival, you’ll receive your admission ticket at our class on Friday night. Saturday, you’ll be able to attend and free to photograph whatever you wish at your leisure. No need to keep up with a group in this diverse and exciting setting!There will be dancing, storytelling, sheep herding, several DeLoreans on display, spirited folks in costume, a children’s area, delicious culinary adventures, a Scottish Clans area, whiskey tasting, pints of Guinness, Irish dog breeds & dog rescue, and of course lots of Celtic music everywhere! There are so many photo opportunities that you’re sure to find something that inspires you!Take lots of images using the guidelines and instruction you learned in class and you’ll be prepared to enter our Celtic Photo Contest!The Celtic Photo Contest:Friday evening at the class you’ll be given guidelines and instruction for entering the photo contest. After all entries have been submitted within the specified time frame, they will be posted on our Arlington Camera Facebook page for a popular vote. The first place winner will receive a $100 Gift Card to Arlington Camera, second place will receive a $50 Gift Card to Arlington Camera, and third place will be awarded a four-pack of Guinness!We hope you’ll join us for this festive and fun event! He is also a former Arlington Camera employee, and continues to teach our Introduction to Digital Photography classes here at the store.
