LACONI Recharge presents Stronger Together: Networking Toward More Accessible Libraries

Build your accessibility network at this energizing unconference. Whether you have expertise to share on a specific topic or want to discover what’s working in other libraries, this is the perfect chance to connect, mentor, learn, and find new inspiration.

Peer facilitators will guide discussions on a range of accessibility related topics including library spaces and physical accommodations, adaptive technology in the library, neurodiverse affirming programs and services, accessible collections, and neurodiversity staff training.

This event is ideal for library professionals of all roles, as well as MLIS students.

For sustainability, bottled water will not be provided - please bring a water bottle to refill at water stations throughout the library.

Free library parking is available at the outside and underground parking lots at 500 N. Dunton Ave. at the corner of Dunton and Euclid. In case of some large events, if the library parking lots fill, additional paid or free parking may be available at the Vail Avenue Commuter Lot at the corner of West St. James Street and Vail Avenue, Fremont Street and Vail Avenue. Street parking is available on the streets surrounding the library.

AMHL is accessible by both Metra train and Pace Bus. To learn more about bus and train schedules and accessibility information, visit the Metra page here and Pace page here. The library is a 0.3 mile walk from the Metra station. The library is located within a Pace On Demand zone. Visit the Pace website to reserve the shared-ride service.
