This continuous physical practice offers you a space to reconnect to your body and the wildness within. The practice is improvisation-based, with its methodology derived from concepts of flow, effort, and sweat. The practice aims to bring the body and mind into a readied state of awareness, playful creativity, and sensitive focus. With these tools, we strive to further our knowledge by investing in set phrase material. By practicing coordination, rhythmic phrasing, and shifting physical qualities, each participant enriches their movement language and nourishes their passion for movement.
OM JENS SCHYTH BRØNDUM
Guatemalan-born, American-Danish, Jens-Antonio Schyth Brøndum (He/him), is a contemporary mover based in Copenhagen, Denmark. His formative years were spent in mountainous Colorado, fostering his understanding and exploration of the shifting dynamics of nature and physicality. Finishing his BA at The Danish National School of Performing Arts, Jens-Antonio worked with choreographer Sita Ostheimer, based in Berlin, Germany. His time with the company inspired a strong awareness of physicality. As an evolving artist, Jens-Antonio finds his perspective of dancing reflected through an unbreakable trust in the dancing body and a deep respect in the heritage of all bodies. He is passionate about how dance can reshape our perception of reality and cultivate an inclusive space for all, regardless of their cultural and social background. He has resolved to integrate his study of cultural diversity and queer perspective into his employment and teaching of movement. Jens-Antonio explores his passion for performing and creating while working with numerous Danish-based companies, notably Uppercut Dance Theater, Danish Dance Theater, Holstebro Dance Company, and the Royal Danish Ballet & Theater.
