- **Event Description**: It is hard to imagine nowadays, but disco was once considered underground dance music, and its pioneers helped pave the way to the club culture and the community we know today. Therefore the story of Mel Cheren and the legendary label West End records is, perhaps arguably, one of the most important ones to share. Without Cheren, the clubbing and djing landscape we know today would not exist. This is a man who pioneered Paradise Garage (the first iconic dance club of its kind), helped launch the career of Larry Levan (a DJ who set standards for future generations of what a top-tier dj should be), and without whom we might not know the 12” as we know it today.



𝐅𝐄𝐔𝐌 𝐅𝐈𝐋𝐌 𝐊𝐋𝐔𝐁 returns on the 16th of April for its third screening, this time “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐝𝐟𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨 - 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐞𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧”. The film is packed with amazing tracks and heartfelt stories. We feel this one is for all the diggers and for all of those partygoers who feel dance music is about the community it creates - because this story is very much about that.

FILM KLUB is a relaxed space for both long-time dancefloor regulars and curious newcomers to watch, listen, learn, and hang out together. 

We screen films that explore the roots, stories, and movements of electronic music and club culture, with the aim to strengthen the dance music community in Aarhus. 



The screening is presented in collaboration with 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐍𝐎, who are kindly hosting us. Entry is free, and the bar will be open from 16, serving refreshing drinks to enjoy alongside the film. After the screening, the bar remains open and the music will be playing, so you are welcome to hang around and discuss the movie or anything music related.
