A night of powerful storytelling, luminous harmony and unflinching truth-telling awaits as Grace Petrie joins forces with Australian sister duo The Maes for a rare double-headline event that brings together two of contemporary folk’s most compelling voices.
Forged in the political fires of a generation of Tory rule, Grace Petrie has built a reputation as one of the UK’s most fearless and affecting songwriters. Since emerging on the British folk scene in 2010, her razor-sharp lyricism and open-hearted performances have drawn comparisons to Billy Bragg, while her ability to unite humour, empathy and fury in equal measure has won her fans across folk, punk and queer communities alike. Her breakout anthem Black Tie became an instant modern classic - a joyous, defiant hymn to identity and belonging that continues to resonate worldwide. With her latest album Build Something Better, produced by Frank Turner, Petrie cements her place as a singular force in folk music: passionate, political, and profoundly human.
Sharing the stage are The Maes - Central Victorian sisters Maggie and Elsie Rigby, whose luminous harmonies and acoustic mastery have made them one of Australia’s most beloved folk acts. After Grace first saw them perform at Woodford Folk Festival in 2023, she invited them to join her on her 2025 UK tour, forging a friendship and musical connection that now returns to Australian soil.
Together, these artists promise an evening of laughter, tenderness and conviction with songs that speak to protest and poetry, heartbreak and hope, and the unbreakable power of music to connect us all.
