This American Red Cross Instructor course is designed for experienced First Aid, CPR & AED providers who are ready to become certified instructors. Participants who complete this course will be authorized to teach American Red Cross First Aid, CPR, and AED courses in workplaces, schools, community organizations, and professional training environments.
This program is ideal for individuals who already hold a current American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification and want to expand their qualifications, support their organization’s training needs, or begin teaching professionally.
Participants will be trained to:
Deliver American Red Cross First Aid, CPR, and AED courses
Conduct classroom and hands-on skills sessions
Evaluate student performance and manage certifications
Teach in accordance with Red Cross standards and instructional guidelines
This is a blended learning course, which includes:
Online instructor training modules
Instructor-led classroom sessions
Hands-on teaching and skills practice
The online learning portion must be completed before participating in the classroom and skills sessions.
Prerequisites and Enrollment Requirements
To enroll, you must:
Hold a current American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification (or higher)
Be at least 16 years old by the end of the course
Register using the same email address associated with your current Red Cross certification
After registering, you will receive an email requesting proof of your current certification. Once your certification is verified, you will receive instructions to begin the online portion of the course.
If you are currently registered with Household HQ for the basic First Aid/CPR/AED course and plan to continue into the instructor course, please contact Household HQ so arrangements can be made.
