What's Being Proposed?
Essential Energy LLC, an entity tied to the Project Boson data center developer, wants to build a massive natural gas power plant on the 17 acre Highway Auto salvage yard site at 1000 Main Street, surrounded by 18 data center buildings of the Archbald I Scott Data Center Campus project. 

The plans include:
- Four turbine pads, each 66,000 square feet
- Buildings reaching up to 55 feet tall
- A facility that would operate around the clock

Why This Hits Close to Home?
This isn't an industrial corridor far from where people live. This site sits less than 1,000 feet from Ed Staback Park and directly across the street from the Highlands housing development.

The developer says noise will stay within industrial limits and only 30 employees will be on site. But transforming an auto salvage yard into a 24/7 industrial power facility in that location demands more than assurances. It demands proof.

Archbald's zoning ordinance caps electric power generating plants at 75 megawatts. A four-turbine facility raises serious questions about whether that legal threshold can actually be met. 

Because the site is zoned I-2 Heavy Industrial, a power plant isn't automatically permitted. It requires conditional use approval and that decision belongs to the Archbald Borough Council.

They have the authority to deny this outright or attach strict, binding conditions to protect the neighborhood. 

But first, they have to hear from us.

This public hearing is required by law before any vote. It's our chance to demand answers and put our concerns on the official record.
