“Quixote... la noche de las penas” is a poetic physical storytelling of Miguel Cervantes' timeless classic of chivalry, honor and impossible dreams in an age that seems to question such values. The performance is a bi-lingual tour de force of physical comedy, contemporary dance, giant puppets, Melodrama and more than a hint of magic and poetry. The audience is asked to bear witness to the heroic journey of an old man and his faithful servant as they battle dark shadows and deceptive forces in their quest to rescue Dulcinea from the Knight of the Deadly Sorrows.
 
The production features puppetry and dynamic visuals by an international and local team of designers, builders and cast members. This workshop production will make its world premiere in Arcata with plans to bring the work to Brussels Belgium in the fall of 2026. The project marks Galindo and Ferney’s first return to the stage together since 2010.
