- **Event Description**: We have followed the career of the legendary Jim Smith since the mid 90s, when he and T-Bone Stone led The Dixie Drovers. This evolved into Jim's Americana infused punk-a-billy band American Cheese. For 20 years he hosted the open mic at Checkpoint Charlie's in the French Quarter, and when we opened the Lighthouse 3 years ago he moved his open mic operation here for our first year. We call him back whenever we can, because we just love his songs so much. He's also a very funny guy, and we can all use a laugh or two these days. And not for nothing, but he is the best harmonica player in New Orleans if you ask me. Come to the Lighthouse for great songs and a good time whenever Jim Smith is the featured performer. 

Jim will play a set at 6, followed by open mic at 7. Each participant will get up to 15 minutes of undiluted fame.

All ages/no cover.
