In times such as these, we need to return to the practices that hold, nurture and sustain us all. Singing in community is an ancient technology, and a powerful tool for healing, transformation and collective liberation.
Not only does singing activate the parasympathetic nervous system, reduce cortisol and stress levels, lower blood pressure, improve digestion and cardio function and release endorphins and oxytocin, singing is also a DYNAMIC, THERAPEUTIC tool that allows our emotions to be processed and to move through us in a way that thinking or talking simply cannot do.
An accessible and community-based approach to singing, together we will share simple chants, rounds and layer songs, taught in the moment "call & echo" style; songs designed to soothe, to uplift, to support and to inspire. Singing is our birthright - bring your voices and your hearts. I can't wait to sing with you.
DONATION - Suggested donation $30-$20. No one turned away due to lack of funds - contact me if this is a hardship. Thank you for supporting what supports you.
ACCOUNTABILITY - I will be tithing to the Amah Mutsun Land Trust. Aptos Beloved Community will generously be matching our donation.
