About the event

Paint Mini Coastal Art on Seashells
Join us for a relaxed and creative workshop where you’ll transform seashells, beach rocks, or other found treasures into miniature coastal artworks. Using your favourite swimming spot or ocean view as inspiration, you’ll learn how to design and paint a beautiful beach scene perfectly suited to the shape of your chosen object.

Bring along a photo of a place you love by the sea, plus a couple of shells, stones, or beach finds to paint on. We’ll explore simple techniques for scaling down your image and simplifying your design so the most important features shine.

By the end of the session, you’ll head home with your own unique hand-painted beach scene — a small keepsake capturing the spirit of the coast.

Suzette Jackson is an artist and designer whose practice is grounded in ceramics, painting, and sustainable design thinking. Working from her studio in regional Victoria, Jackson explores ceramic form, surface texture, and earth-based materials alongside a broader painting practice. Her work is informed
by a deep commitment to sustainable processes and an interest in how materials can be responsibly sourced, used, and reimagined.

With over 30 years of experience across design, architecture, and sustainability, Jackson brings a systems-based approach to her artistic practice. Her professional background includes establishing new business models, delivering international sustainability programs in Australia, and developing and facilitating workshops and training programs. This experience underpins her focus on longevity, circularity, and thoughtful production within both art and design contexts.
