Hallo!

Ik ben Karolien en heb 4 jaar gewerkt aan mijn doctoraatsonderzoek aan de Heriot-Watt universiteit in Schotland. In augustus rondde ik dit onderzoek af. Het onderzoek gaat over International Sign (IS) congrestolken en over hoe hun verschillende identiteiten hun werkervaringen beïnvloeden. Daarnaast betreft het ook dove professionals en hun ervaringen in het samenwerken met IS tolken.

Graag presenteer ik binnenkort mijn onderzoek in Antwerpen. KU Leuven Campus Antwerpen en Tenuto slaan de handen in elkaar om deze dag te organiseren. De presentatie gaat door op zaterdagvoormiddag 28 februari. Je bent welkom vanaf 9u45, we starten om 10u en ronden af rond 11u30, gevolgd door een hapje en een drankje. Dit gaat door op Campus Opera (Jezusstraat 28/30, Antwerpen). Inschrijven is gratis maar wel verplicht en kan tem 14 februari via dit formulier: https://forms.gle/2VGm92odovNPT2F88.

Er zijn tolken Vlaamse Gebarentaal-Nederlands en tolken Vlaamse Gebarentaal-International Sign aanwezig. De presentatie is niet online te volgen.

Hello!

My name is Karolien, and I spent four years working on my doctoral research at Heriot-Watt University in Scotland. I completed this research in August. The project examines International Sign (IS) conference interpreters and explores how their various identities shape their professional experiences. It also considers deaf professionals and their experiences collaborating with IS interpreters.

I will soon be presenting my research in Antwerp. KU Leuven Campus Antwerp and Tenuto are jointly organising this event. The presentation will take place on Saturday the 28th February. You are welcome from 9:45 a.m.; we will begin at 10 am and conclude around 11:30 am, followed by light refreshments. The venue is Campus Opera (Jezusstraat 28/30, Antwerp). Flemish Sign Language–Dutch and Flemish Sign Language–IS interpreters will be present. It is not possible to attend the presentation online.
