About the event

Poetry Workshop: the History and Making of Chapbooks
About the Workshop:

This workshop will be at the Moka Pot cafe in Manchester, hosted by our very own JeFF Stumpo! It is free to get in, but feel free to toss a coin into the donation box, as well as buy a drink to support the Moka Pot!

Workshop Info:

In this workshop, we’re going to pass around dozens of chapbooks, hear about the history of chapbooks, discuss the purposes of chapbooks, and practice sewing bindings. Which is to say, this is not a writing workshop. JeFF would like to cap attendance at about 12-15 participants, as he’ll be handing out needles and spools of thread and will run out after that.

About the Workshop Host:

JeFF Stumpo is the author of five chapbooks of poetry published by small presses (those being Zenane Independent Media, Unicorn Press, Seven Kitchens Press, and Finishing Line Press) and has put out a couple of self-published chapbooks in addition. He took, and then became an assistant for several years at, the Workshop in the History of Books and Printing at Texas A&M University. He used to own a bone folder but lost it in a move; that’s not a euphemism.
