Co-sponsored by Arts Health Antigonish (AHA!), The Town of Antigonish, and Dr. John Hugh Gillis Regional High School, the presentation of this play aims to bring high-quality Nova Scotian Theatre to our town while celebrating The Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia.

Synopsis: 

Something Missing is a play about queerness,
family, love, and belonging. Chester, our main
character, organizes their life into lists as a way
to feel in control of the uncontrollable. It is the
first Christmas since their parents got divorced,
and they are going home to have a Christmas
dinner with their mother and their sister, Abby.
Chester is stubbornly trying to make their family
talk about the divorce, their complicated
relationship with their father, and Abby’s
asexuality. At the same time, Chester is annoyed
by their mother’s ignorant comments and
questions about their recent top surgery. By the
end of the night, all three characters learn how to
better support and love each other, and how to
treat family members with tenderness and
respect.
