Rumriver Art Center Presents a New Art Gallery Show Opening in the Jan Johansen Gallery.
Anoka, MN - The Jan Johansen Gallery of Rumriver Art Center is pleased to present a new art exhibition, Pomp and Circumstance of Death and Psychopomp, featuring new oil paintings and ceramics by Emily Robinson. The show opens Saturday, September 13, 2025, with an opening reception from 2-4 PM, and runs through October 11. On Thursday, September 11th from 6 pm - 7:30 pm Robinson will be the speaker at the Art & Belief Monthly Gathering.
In her show, Robinson explores the human experience of change and mortality through surreal atmospheres. Drawing from mythological guides and cultural psychopomps, the work reflects on personal grief, spiritual transition, and death.
“I invite the viewers to be curious about their own death and to consider who they would want to greet them,” says Robinson. “My goal is to make these uncomfortable conversations about death a little more familiar, a little easier.”
The exhibition will be held at Rumriver Art Center, located at 2665 4th Avenue, Suite #103, Anoka, MN 55303. Admission is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Tuesday and Wednesday, 10 am–3 pm with select Saturdays.
The exhibition will open September 13th and run until October 11th, 2025.
Rumriver Art Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
