David Doggett Presents: Hydrangeas for a Southern Garden

Join us for "Hydrangeas of the Southern Garden" with David Doggett, president of the Alabama Hydrangea Society and an Advanced Master Gardener certified in both hydrangeas and Japanese maples. In this informative session, David will explore the five main classes of hydrangeas thriving in Southern gardens, discussing the unique characteristics, pros and cons of each species. He'll share insights on designing hydrangea gardens with climate change and native plant interests in mind, plus reveal which varieties your local pollinators will love most. A retired computer programmer from Irondale and Jefferson County Master Gardener since 2010, David gives guided tours at Aldridge Gardens, where he created the Japanese Maple Trail featuring over 50 cultivars. His passion for propagating hydrangeas and grafting Japanese maples brings both expertise and enthusiasm to this beautiful topic. (3 Rewards)
