Distance Options: Category 1 Elite 4 laps 20 miles Category 2 Competitive 3 laps 15 miles Category 3 Intermediate 2 laps 10 miles Category 2 Novice 1 Lap 5 miles Category 1 Middle School/ Jr High 1 Lap 5 miles Course Description: All on the trails at Coldwater Mountain Upper Trailhead. Roughly 40 miles from Birmingham, Alabama, near the towns of Anniston and Oxford, Coldwater Mountain serves up a growing network of trails built specifically for mountain biking but offers recreation of all sorts, including trail running. The 4,000-acre land tract was bought in the late 1990s by Alabama’s Forever Wild organization—a land preservation program—and is managed by the state. Awards: Awards will be given to the top 3 male and top 3 female riders from each category that races Chip Timing: Disposable and reusable RFID chip timing from ChronoTrack by Race Krewe. Packet pickup: The morning of the race starting at 6:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Desoto State Park. Race starts at 11:00 a.m. Entry Fees: Includes soft cotton race t-shirt – subject to availability for race day registrations.Chance to win a Special Edition BSE Yeti Bucket on Race Day. Safety first, at their discretion any race or rider can be suspended for any reason if in the RD’s discretion there is an unsafe condition or environment. 2. All categories are self selected during registration. If not sure, ask 3. All categories must have a minimum of 5 riders or will be collapsed up or down at the RD’s discretion 4. Minimum age for categories 1 and 2 are 14 years old as of race day 5. Middle school students (5&6 grade) must register for categories 3 or below 6. All races will be chip timed with wave starts, starting with category 1 and down. 7. Slower riders are to give way to faster riders or be DQ’d from the event 8. Awards will be given to the top 3 male and top 3 female riders from each category that races 9. T-shirt deadline for registration will be at midnight the Sunday prior to race day. 10.
