Young Chefs Culinary Camp

Alba is a cooking instructor and personal chef specializing in southern Italian and Mediterranean cuisine in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Her recipes are rustic, simple and vibrant in taste.
Young chefs will learn the art of cooking from an experienced chef, Chef Alba who teaches adult cooking classes. Each young chef will work within a small team and will have an unforgettable 5-day hands-on fun experience. We cover the culinary fundamentals to give our young chefs the groundwork they need to be safe and creative in the kitchen. They will learn skills such as knife and kitchen safety, ingredient exploration, basic cooking techniques, working as a team, communication, organization, and leadership. Chef Alba will conduct some demonstrations to explain the “why” and “how” of cooking techniques. The week concludes with a “Chopped” style finale. On Friday, the young chefs, will draw from everything they learned that week and, with the chef’s guidance, cook up a meal of their own creation. We will explore international cuisines using local products, and traditional techniques of various countries. Themes include vegetarian, vegan, lean healthy meats, sweet and savory baking. The kids eat what they cook and take home the recipes.
Cost: $395. Registration fees may apply.
(Prerequisite: must already have experience with knife skills and some cooking knowledge, or have attended a class/camp)
Note: For their safety, Students are required to wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Long hair must be tied back at all times.
The Annapolis Culinary Center offers a variety of classes with various dietary needs. However, many of our classes have pre-fix menus and are unable to accommodate substitutions. We are not a gluten free kitchen. Despite taking every precaution, we cannot guarantee that our items are free from trace amounts of peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, milk, eggs, soy, fish, shellfish or other allergens.
REFUND POLICY: A full refund can be issued if requested AT LEAST 1 week prior to class. Under no circumstances will a transfer of funds or refund be issued without 1 week notice; no exceptions. However, we will accept a name transfer if you would like to fill your slot for the class with a friend, family member or colleague
