After my recent post about not heading your way in March, here’s the unexpected turn.
As life tends to do, it threw me a curveball. And somehow, I hit it (a fact that would shock every Little League coach I ever had).
I’ve been offered one solo show on February 24 at one of the finest listening rooms anywhere: Ram’s Head On Stage in Annapolis.
And I’ve decided to do it.
Let me be clear:
This is not a tour.
There are no other US or regional dates around it.
This will be my songs and stories, presented exactly the way I believe they should be.
After I shared my March decision, many of you reached out—some gently, some less so—telling me to get my ass over there and not live in fear. You said you needed my voice. That I should keep speaking my truth, and truth to power.
You made a compelling case.
So here’s what this night is and isn’t:
• One solo show
• My music—the songs I actually write and care about
• And yes, songs about what’s happening in our world right now
To make the night even more special, the show will be opened by two of my very favorite singer/songwriters - Madisun Bailey and Meg Murray. They’ll share the stage in the round, swapping songs and stories in the spirit of the Annapolis Songwriters Festival, which is near and dear to my heart.
This show fits exactly the direction I’ve been talking about: rooms where people come to listen, where I can be myself, say what I mean, and sing what I write.
I stand by everything I said in my earlier post. I’m still choosing fewer shows and work that feels honest. This is simply an exception that makes sense—musically, personally, and creatively.
I’m choosing not to let fear—or my own stubbornness—make my decisions for me.
So yes… I’m coming over.
Briefly. Intentionally. On my own terms.
At my age, if I’m crossing an ocean, it’s for the right room, the right reasons, and the right songs.
